We are currently looking to add a hardworking, enthusiastic Mechanical / Electrical Coordinator to join our Team. The M/E Coordinator is responsible for overall safety at the site and ensuring staff are compliant with AMAN's Safety Program and any other applicable safety regulations.

Principle Duties & Responsibilities

Include but are not limited to:

  • Ensuring constructability of proposed mechanical and electrical systems by coordinating mechanical and electrical shop drawings and assisting in the selection of appropriate equipment.
  • Assisting in the overall project schedule development by coordinating site services, mechanical, electrical, and fire suppression systems.
  • Developing the detailed testing and commissioning schedule by coordinating with consultants, trades, and other subcontractors.
  • Supporting the QA/QC program by ensuring trade work is being completed as per the construction plans and specifications.
  • Maintaining the QA/QC program by drafting check sheets, performing inspections, and testing, and maintaining an inspection log, for wall and ceiling mechanical and electrical inspections.
  • Maintaining the project schedule by coordinating the work of mechanical and electrical subcontractors.
  • Supporting open communication by attending weekly subcontractor coordination meetings.
  • Ensuring appropriate staffing levels by monitoring the progress of mechanical and electrical subcontractors and making recommendations to the Project Manager, as required.
  • Reviewing site services, mechanical and electrical contractors' monthly progress billing to ensure compliance with progress and equipment on site, as requested.
  • Certifying completeness and conformance to contract documents by reviewing all mechanical and electrical submissions and ensuring no major changes in scope have occurred.
  • Identifying and tracks mechanical and electrical close-out documents to completion.
  • Performing verification checks between shop drawings and specifications on all major equipment upon delivery to site.
  • Reviewing all site instructions and change requests identifying the site services, mechanical, and electrical documents to ensure there is sufficient information to provide adequate pricing, constructability, and schedule impacts.
  • Managing 'RFI's' against drawings including RFI's change notices.
  • Assisting crew in establishing the construction plan by providing temporary services layout and procurement plans.
  • Supporting commissioning and building occupancy by liaising with building authorities and regulatory agencies.
  • Supporting project close-out by coordinating the commissioning, operation and maintenance manuals, spare part inventory, deficiencies, and warranty work of mechanical and electrical sub-contractors.
  • Providing on-site conflict resolution by troubleshooting mechanical and electrical issues.
  • Ensuring safety standards are met by performing inspections on all work completed by mechanical and electrical sub-contractors.
  • Enhancing productivity by providing suggestions to refine workflow and boost efficiency.
  • Supporting administration by completing required paperwork, and other documentation as required.

Knowledge & Skills Required

Include but are not limited to;

  • Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Construction Management or related field, is preferred. High School Diploma/GED is required.
  • A minimum of 3-years previous experience in mechanical or electrical construction.
  • Proficiency in all Microsoft Office tools, including; Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Projects.
  • Demonstrated success in providing value via constructability reviews, identified cost savings, market sensitivity and innovation.
  • Must have a basic understanding of construction principles and procedures.
  • Previous commercial and/or institutional construction experience is required.
  • Must hold strong communication skills, both verbally and written.
  • Must be highly organized and able to prioritize responsibilities.
  • Must have a proven ability to take initiative and be respectful of diversity.
  • Must have a strong service orientation with a focus on respect and reputation.
  • Ability to work extended hours as required.

Pay: $68,000.00-$99,000.00 per year
