Law Works
is a small, specialized boutique, handling franchise and commercial litigation and arbitration in various provinces.

We are seeking a
senior-level clerk
to work directly with our principal and associates. This is a role for a litigation clerk with demonstrated commercial litigation expertise in
e-discovery
evidence management, navigation of multi-provincial court rules and court filings, and use of technology.

The Role

  • E-Discovery Expertise:
    You will be significantly involved in the e-discovery process, managing the flow of evidence from collection to production, through to trial or arbitration.

  • Multi-Jurisdictional Work:
    You will drive the procedural schedule and handle filings, applying the court rules of Ontario, BC, Alberta, and other provinces where we practise.

  • Technology: You are proficient with current digital practice management tools and able to master new legal tech quickly.

Requirements

  • Experience:
    Minimum 7 years as a Litigation Clerk specifically in Commercial Litigation firm.
  • E-Discovery Expertise:
    Extensive, hands-on experience with e-discovery software and understand the full production lifecycle.
  • Procedural Knowledge:
    Mastery of Ontario court filing rules and a strong ability to navigate filing requirements in other provinces (BC, AB, and others).
  • Digital Practice:
    Seamless capability with paperless trial preparation, Adobe Acrobat, and digital file management.
  • Drafting:
    Ability to draft standard litigation filings and bills of costs with minimal supervision, utilizing advanced Word formatting.
  • Timetable Management:
    Demonstrated ability to manage compliance with file timetables.
  • Certification:
    A Law Clerk diploma or ILCO certification.

  • We offer a hybrid work model for GTA-based candidates, balancing in-office collaboration with remote focus time.
  • This position is available full-time or part-time.
