Job Type: Full-Time

Talent Renew has partnered with a growing Toronto-based litigation firm that is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Litigation Law Clerk to join their team. This is an exciting opportunity for a proactive legal professional who thrives in a dynamic environment and enjoys taking ownership of their work in a close-knit, collaborative team setting.

The ideal candidate is client-focused, resourceful, and comfortable managing a wide range of administrative and legal tasks that support the smooth and efficient operation of litigation files.

Key Responsibilities

Client Service

  • Serve as the first point of contact for clients via phone, email, and in-person communication

  • Manage client communications with professionalism and discretion

  • Schedule meetings and coordinate lawyer calendars

  • Follow up with clients on required documentation and next steps

Lawyer & File Support

  • Open and close litigation files in accordance with firm procedures

  • Prepare, file, and organize court documents including pleadings, motion records, affidavits, and briefs

  • Track and manage deadlines using Clio or other case management software

  • Conduct legal research and provide concise summaries

  • Prepare hearing and trial materials

  • Oversee undertakings, productions, and discovery deadlines

  • Diarize court dates, limitation periods, and other critical deadlines

Administrative & Team Support

  • Maintain electronic and physical file organization

  • Assist with accounts receivable follow-ups tied to file progression

  • Train and support junior administrative staff as needed

  • Contribute to improving systems, workflows, and firm processes

  • Participate in team meetings, offering updates on file status

Qualifications

  • Law Clerk diploma or equivalent experience in a litigation-focused setting

  • 2+ years of experience in a law firm or legal environment preferred

  • Solid understanding of Ontario court rules and filing procedures

  • Proficiency with legal software (Clio preferred), Microsoft Office Suite, and Adobe

  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills

  • Exceptional organizational and multitasking abilities

  • Professional, client-focused demeanor with strong discretion and confidentiality
