We're partnering with a long-standing non-profit organization based in Vancouver, dedicated to supporting women through advocacy, safety, and community-based programs. As the Director of Finance, you'll play a critical role in advancing this mission by leading the organization's financial strategy.

Responsibilities
:

  • Regulatory Compliance and Oversight:
    Stay updated on not-for-profit accounting regulations and ensure internal systems align with financial management best practices.
  • Budget Management:
    Prepare and maintain the operational budget, program budgets, and variance reporting for managers, as well as assist in budget creation for proposals and work plans.
  • Financial Reporting and Audit Facilitation:
    Collaborate closely with the Board of Directors, manage financial data oversight, complete funding agency reports, and oversee annual audits and their recommendations.
  • Fund Development Support:
    Partner with fund development teams to draft contribution agreements, track expenditures, and develop budgets for funding proposals.
  • Training and Capacity Building:
    Develop and deliver financial training opportunities for staff and Board members.
  • Administrative Leadership:
    Negotiate building leases, manage insurance portfolios, oversee capital improvements, and maintain relationships with financial partners (e.g., banks, investment partners).
  • HR Support and Payroll:
    Assist with contract negotiations, administer benefits programs, oversee payroll processes, and maintain accuracy in submissions.
  • Team Support and Supervision:
    Supervise and provide guidance to the Manager of Finance to ensure effective financial service delivery.

CANDIDATE PROFILE:

  • CPA or an equivalent
  • 3+ years of expertise in a non-for-profit leadership role
  • ERP implementation expertise
  • Ability to wear many hats, patience, organizational skills, sense of humour
