Consider this exciting opportunity and join our dedicated team of IT professionals where you will support the management of major complex computer solutions in a variety of platforms for the ministries at the Justice Technology Services Division.

Justice Technology Services (JTS) provides critical support to the justice sector, which is the largest sector within the Ontario Public Service (OPS). JTS delivers highly integrated and complex Information & Information Technology services and solutions and reliable and responsive operational support. Key support is provided through development, implementation and maintenance of technology solutions and critical services, liaising with other service providers, as well as information management and planning. This particular role will focus on developing and enhancing functionality of Police Records Management System.

Please note: This position is located at 21 College St., 3rd Floor, Toronto, and/or 200 First Avenue, North Bay. Employees are currently expected to return to the five-day in-office standard starting from January 5, 2026.

About the job

As a valued team member, you will:

  • Design and develop system interfaces for both acquired and developed application solutions
  • Perform system integration from a technical perspective, including designing appropriate ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) solutions
  • Provide technical expertise, develop and implement business intelligence solutions to support police end users, project teams, and peer technical staff
  • Plan, validate, and document data conversion routines supplied by the vendor, co-ordinating and performing conversion activities with each police service and operations
  • Document, design and develop decision support reports based on data across police applications
What you bring to the team
Technical knowledge and experience

You have:

  • knowledge of information technology and information engineering principles, computer programming techniques, client/server application development technology
  • knowledge of, and experience with data warehousing, BI, XSLT, ETL, SQL, XML, .Net, HTML, data mining and data analytics
  • knowledge of current software products and emerging advancements in the field
  • experience in designing, implementing and supporting hardware/software infrastructures for both development and production environments, supporting multi-tiered applications in large distributed environments
Reasoning, analytical and problem-solving skills

You can:

  • assess and recommend network and security architectural strategies for highly complex technical solutions
  • assess technical design problems and develop computerized solutions to infrastructure problems in support of systems and end users
  • conduct cost-benefit analyses in support of acquisition recommendations
Communication and interpersonal skills

You have:

  • excellent written and oral communication skills to discuss client requirements, prepare project reports, and discuss acquisition recommendations with clients, technical staff, and vendors
  • interpersonal skills to listen, negotiate, and influence technology issues and ensure performance and standards needs are achieved while delivering business solutions
  • demonstrated ability to lead technical discussions with vendors, customers, other technical staff, and senior management
