Role description:
We are seeking a Senior Controls Engineer to lead the design, development, and implementation of control systems for mission-critical projects in a variety industries and applications. This role will focus on developing real-time control systems, building automation and power monitoring (, system integration, data analytics, and advanced reporting solutions for data centers and high-reliability infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with SCADA software, PLC/DCS programming and integration, communication protocols, and power system analysis.
The primary focus of this role is to provide technical design, PLC/DCS programming, SCADA application development and implementation, and go-live support before and during the implementation of customer projects.
Role accountabilities:
- Design and implement controls systems for mission-critical facilities, ensuring high reliability and performance.
- Develop real-time monitoring and analytics solutions to track power usage, energy efficiency, and system reliability.
- Configure and integrate EPMS with SCADA, Building Management Systems (BMS), and Electrical Infrastructure for seamless operation.
- Program and troubleshoot SCADA software and hardware components, including power meters, gateways, and data acquisition devices.
- Define network architecture for SCADA, BMS, EPMS, ensuring compliance with cybersecurity best practices.
- Collaborate with mechanical engineers, electrical engineers, controls engineers, IT teams, and commissioning specialists to ensure SCADA and BMS/EPMS functionality aligns with project requirements.
- Develop custom dashboards, alarms, and reporting tools to enhance operational visibility.
- Manage vendor relationships and oversee system deployment, commissioning, and validation.
- Provide technical support and training to end users on SCADA, BMS and EPMS operation and maintenance.
- Stay current with emerging technologies in SCADA, building automation and power monitoring, IoT, and AI-driven analytics to enhance system capabilities.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
- 10+ years of experience in BMS/EPMS, IoT, SCADA and other intelligent building systems service or integration with at least 5 years in mission-critical environments (data centers, advanced manufacturing, etc.).
- Strong ControlLogix and CompactLogix programming experience developing application from scratch for complex processes.
- Design and programming experience with Siemens S7/PCS 7 and WinCC/TIA.
- Design and programming experience with AVEVA System Platform, Historian (OSI PI), Batch, and InTouch.
- Experience designing, configuring, programming, installing, troubleshooting or servicing HVAC Controls or Electrical SCADA systems application specific controllers, software and networks.
- Experience in configuring, programming and troubleshooting Trend, Niagara N4, Distech, Schneider, Ignition
- Expertise in BMS and EPMS software platforms (Inductive Automation, Schneider Electric Power Monitoring Expert, Eaton Foreseer, Siemens EPMS, etc.)

The salary range for this position is $89,000 - $134,000. The base salary represents Arcadis' hiring range for this position. Actual salaries will vary and will be based on various factors, such as location, skills, experience, and qualification for the role.
