About CredoSense

CredoSense develops high-precision, affordable sensor-logger systems that support research, agriculture, and environmental management worldwide. Our mission is to empower scientists, farmers, and decision-makers with actionable data that improves sustainability and resilience.

By combining embedded systems, IoT integration, and AI-enhanced insights, CredoSense is shaping the future of environmental monitoring and precision agriculture, enabling smarter decisions for a changing world.

Role summary

CredoSense Inc., a global innovator in environmental sensing and agricultural technology (AgTech), is seeking an accomplished Chief Technology Officer (CTO) to lead product engineering, define technical strategy, and scale CredoSense's technology platforms at the intersection of sensors, IoT connectivity, and AI-driven analytics. The role spans hardware, embedded systems, IoT platforms, data infrastructure, and AI-enabled analytics, with direct accountability for product readiness, scalability, and cost-effective deployment. This is an opportunity to shape the technology roadmap of a mission-driven company that makes scientific instrumentation accessible and affordable. The CTO will report to the CEO/founder and work closely with R&D, product, operations, and external partners (manufacturing, calibration, and research collaborators).

Key Responsibilities

  • Define and lead CredoSense's overall technological vision, ensuring alignment with strategic growth in AgTech and environmental monitoring.
  • Lead research, development, and commercialization across hardware, embedded systems, IoT platforms, and AI-enabled data solutions.
  • Own product architecture, system reliability, scalability, and security for device-to-cloud pipelines.
  • Oversee product development life cycle: prototyping, testing, calibration, certification readiness, and handoff to manufacturing.
  • Drive quality & calibration standards for sensors and data integrity.
  • Manage vendor/CM relationships, bring cost-effective manufacturing solutions, and support supply-chain decisions.
  • Collaborate with sales/marketing to translate customer needs (universities, farms, agencies) into product features.
  • Represent CredoSense in strategic partnerships with universities, industry leaders, and global institutions.
  • Own, refine, and scale engineering KPIs, documentation standards, and development velocity metrics to support company growth.

Required Qualifications

We are seeking a candidate who combines both deep technical expertise and proven leadership capability:

  • Education
: Advanced degree (Master's or PhD preferred) in Electronics, Computer Engineering, Environmental Technology, or a closely related field.
  • Experience:
Minimum of 6+ years of progressive leadership in embedded systems, IoT, AI product development, or environmental sensing, including experience bringing complex technologies from research into scalable production.
  • Domain Knowledge
: Hands on experience and understanding of AgTech applications and environmental monitoring, with exposure to real-world product deployments.
  • Leadership
: Experience leading interdisciplinary engineering teams, including responsibility for mentoring, strategy, and cross-functional collaboration.
  • Innovation
: Demonstrated success in integrating theory and practice and converting academic papers and research-based concepts into scalable, field-ready technologies.
  • Strategic Vision
: Ability to define long-term technology roadmaps that balance precision, affordability, and global scalability.
  • Communication
: Strong ability to engage with diverse stakeholders, from researchers to customers to business executives.
  • Eligibility
: Must be eligible to work in Canada and willing to be based in Toronto, Ontario.

What We Offer

  • A competitive executive compensation package, including salary and meaningful equity participation aligned with long-term company growth.
  • The opportunity to own and shape CredoSense's global technology strategy, with direct influence over product direction, architecture, and execution.
  • A mission-driven leadership role advancing AI-enabled, IoT-connected sensing systems with real-world impact on agriculture, climate science, and sustainability.
  • Relocation and transition support, where applicable.

Ideal Candidate

The role is suited to a leader who:

  • Combines deep technical expertise in embedded systems, IoT, and AI with executive-level leadership skills.
  • Has successfully bridged academic research and commercial productization, ensuring both rigor and scalability.
  • Understands the transformative role of data and AI in agriculture and environmental decision-making.
  • Thrives in guiding teams and organizations to deliver innovation with purpose — technology that is advanced, practical, and globally relevant.
