Strategic Planning Lead, Retail Technology | Brampton, ON
The Planning Lead, Retail Technology is an integral part of Retail Technology department at Loblaw Technology & Analytics, liaising with the Senior Vice President and other members of the Senior Leadership Team to drive the department forward.
Reporting to the Senior Director, Retail Technology Optimization & Planning, this role will plan and manage the critical path of various strategic deliverables and support the department's annual strategic planning cycle.
As the Planning Lead, you are a self-starter and motivated by managing complex projects and processes. To be successful in this role, you will need to influence multiple stakeholders, work across cross-functional teams, balance workload across competing priorities, and command strong communication, presentation, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
WHAT YOU'LL DO:
- Collaborate with retail technology executive and support teams to coordinate the strategic planning process throughout the year
- Develop compelling material for management board presentations, recurring leadership connects, townhalls and speaking engagements with input from the Retail Tech leadership team
- Partner closely with the Retail Tech team to deliver department-wide memos, business cases, announcements, and other essential written communications
- Collaboratively oversee strategic business engagement to ensure that our work remains aligned to the priorities of our business stakeholders
- Establish key milestones and workbacks to ensure planning process delivery, including creating and tracking against workbacks for key deliverables
- Foster a continuous improvement mindset within the department by measuring the impact of our efforts and adjusting wherever necessary
WHAT YOU BRING:
- Self-starter with strong networking skills — able to work independently, proactively identify opportunities, and embed yourself into larger team discussions so you understand and can effectively communicate the business value of various technology initiatives
- Collaborative influencer with proven success building trust and alignment across senior leaders, cross-functional teams, and matrixed organizations
- Creative problem solver, bringing innovative thinking and new tools to address planning issues and deal with unstructured problem spaces.
- Adaptable and resilient, comfortable navigating ambiguity and shifting priorities while staying highly organized and managing multiple projects to deadline.
- Advanced presentation, written and oral communication skills, with a proven ability to distill complex information into clear, engaging content for diverse audiences including executive level teams.
- Bachelor's degree or higher in business, technology, communications or similar - or equivalent work experience. Business acumen in Grocery Retail and/or Technology is highly desirable.
