Cedar Planters is a fast-growing Canadian e-commerce manufacturer known for premium craftsmanship, thoughtful design, and a distinctive brand presence. As we continue to grow in North America and internationally, we are seeking an experienced and hands-on Paid Media Manager to scale our multi-channel paid media efforts and support campaign strategy. As a young, results-driven company, we are looking for exceptionally talented individuals to join the adventure.
Role Overview
The Paid Media Manager is responsible for the end-to-end execution of Cedar Planters' paid media program, focused on managing, optimizing and growing paid advertising on META, Google Bing, TikTok, Reddit, and other platforms. You will be responsible for hands-on execution including campaign setup, optimization, and scaling, with full accountability for performance.
This role will also be a strategic partner - you'll be working closely with creative, content and digital teams to help drive overall campaign strategy and growth initiatives. A strong understanding of all elements of campaign planning and management, and the ability to communicate insights and data-driven recommendations will be essential. The position is best suited for an ambitious advertising professional looking to level-up their career and help take Cedar Planters to the next level.
Key Responsibilities
Hands-On Media Buying
- Personally execute campaign setup, optimization, and scaling across platforms
- Own bidding strategies, audience structures, and spend allocation
- Make real-time performance decisions at scale
- Manage and scale $1M+ per month in paid media spend
Performance & Optimization
- Optimize toward ROAS, MER, CPA, and contribution margin
- Identify and correct inefficiencies quickly at high spend levels
- Manage platform volatility, attribution noise, and signal loss
- Maintain clean, scalable account structure and tracking discipline
Creative-Led Growth
- Work directly with the creative team to drive continuous testing
- Provide insights to help guide full campaign strategy
- Translate performance data into actionable creative insights
- Identify winning patterns and scale them aggressively
- Shut down underperforming concepts decisively
- Demonstrate sound judgment in spend and creative decisions
Reporting & Communication
- Produce concise, outcome-focused performance reporting
- Communicate insights, risks, and recommendations clearly to leadership
- Support decision-making with analysis, not just metrics
Success Metrics (KPIs)
This role is measured on business outcomes.
- Sustain profitable scale at $1M+ monthly ad spend
- Maintain target ROAS and MER while scaling
- Maintain performance stability during periods of rapid growth
Required Experience
- 4+ years hands-on paid media experience in DTC e-commerce
- Direct personal responsibility for Meta and Google Ads at high spend levels
- Proven experience managing $1M+/month in paid media spend
- Strong understanding of ROAS, MER, attribution, and scale dynamics
- Knowledge of creative testing processes and campaign optimization
- Excellent analytical skills
- Strong understanding of e-commerce best practices
- Reliability and attention to detail.
- Comfortable owning paid media performance and being accountable to clear, data-driven goals.
Preferred Experience
- Experience operating in a hands-on, individual contributor role
- Experience managing platforms beyond Meta and Google
- Strong creative testing and performance analysis skills
- Copywriting skills with a strong understanding of effective hooks and CTAs
- Experience scaling brands during aggressive growth phases
- DTC or vertically integrated brand experience
Compensation & Details
- Salary: CAD $85,000 – $100,000
- Full-time, in-person
- Monday to Friday, with flexibility as needed
- High ownership, clear expectations, and the freedom to execute.
