Legally entitled to work in Canada as a student.
In possession of a Social Insurance Number (card) at time of hire.
Currently enrolled in a post-secondary educational institution on a full-time basis and returning to school in the fall of 2026.
Job Summary
This role is responsible for supporting employment and social services programs by assisting clients with navigating supports and performing administrative tasks. Duties & Responsibilities
Function as part of a multidisciplinary team, supporting team members in all programs and duties. Assist clients virtually through zoom, phone or email and in person.
Provide excellent customer service in a team environment, communicating effectively with clients, staff and management.
Provide direct customer service by responding to customer questions, concerns and complaints and completing reminder calls for service.
Assist walk-in clients and makes referrals to internal and external resources.
Respond to telephone inquiries and emails, manage the flow of incoming and out-going communication, and distribute correspondence while maintaining confidentiality.
Provide reception/resource center and other administrative supports to Employment and Social Services staff and management.
Prepare and record correspondence/information supporting Integrated Case Managers/Integrated Employment Specialist/Integrated Job Developers.
Provide consistent support of Ontario Works and Employment Halton activities, including creating excel templates, tracking sheets, and statistical outcomes.
Provide support to employment programs and workshops and identify employment opportunities for qualified candidates.
Assist with daily courier pickup/drop off and distribute mail to Employment and Social Services staff.
Prepare food vouchers, duplicate drug cards, recreation forms, bus tickets, satisfaction surveys, attendance logs and optical forms for participant pick up and/or service provision.
Update SAMS and other program technology as required.
Perform other duties as assigned
Skills & Qualifications
Essential
Enrolled at a recognized university or college in Social Service Work, Social Sciences or a related program. Keen Interest in working with low-income and vulnerable families, seniors, singles and individuals.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Outlook, Word, Excel and Power Point as well as ability to learn technology.
Superior interpersonal skills that include listening and problem solving with a proven ability to maintain positive.
Professional working relationships with team members and internal/external stakeholders.
Excellent administrative, time management, organization/planning and self-management skills.
Preferred
Knowledge of local community resources and employment, mental health, housing and social services programs.

Travel may be required and incumbent must provide their own transportation. The Region will reimburse mileage.

The successful candidate will be made an offer of employment on condition that the Regional Municipality of Halton receives a current (obtained within the past six (6) months), original and acceptable Criminal Record Check by the first day of employment.
