Description

The Northern New Brunswick Forestry Operations Division is seeking a reliable and motivated Heavy Equipment Mechanic / Truck and Transport Technician who demonstrates a positive attitude toward teamwork.

Responsibilities
  • Perform heavy equipment maintenance activities, including installation, repair, troubleshooting, diagnostics, and preventive maintenance.
  • Clean, lubricate, and perform other routine maintenance on equipment.
  • Disassemble and reassemble engines and mechanical units to inspect and diagnose parts using computerized test equipment, calibration devices, gauges, etc.
  • Repair and overhaul mobile mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment.
  • Follow all established safety policies and standards, including proper identification, use, and procedures for handling or disposing of hazardous waste.
  • Perform other tasks as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Required Education: Heavy Equipment Mechanic Diploma
  • Years of Experience Required: 2 to 5 years
  • A Red Seal is considered an asset but is not required. Candidates with Mechanic Block 1, 2, or 3 will be considered.
  • Experience in welding and repairing forestry equipment is considered an asset.
  • Must be able to work in a flexible, fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
  • Must be autonomous and detail-oriented.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Being bilingual is considered an asset.
