We are a company that has successfully set a standard for high quality stone countertops from fabrication to installation. Currently, we are looking to grow our team with an organized, self motivated, experienced CAD Technician. The CAD Technician position is an important function in the overall process of delivering the best possible service to our customers. The ideal candidate should be competent, have the ability to work independently, and be capable of communicating effectively with the logistics team. The CAD Technician adds value by ensuring accuracy of details according to digital template as well as unique customer specifications so that we as a team can produce the best possible results and customer satisfaction.
Duties and responsibilities
- Develop 2D shop drawings from digital templates
- Incorporate customer selections and specifications
- Ability to visualize how machining, fabrication & installation processes affect the drawings
- Document key installation & machining considerations
- Seam, faucet, outlet placements, finished edges
- Order of operations for installation
- Handle impromptu requests from various departments (shop, sales, templating, install)
- Developing 2D drawings based on customer/architectural supplied drawings for estimating purposes
- Engage with Job Coordinators to review job details
- Review customer expectations
- Clarify customer selections
Qualifications
Preferred / Valuable
- Experience in the stone/countertop industry
- Experience in kitchen design; reading architectural drawings, blueprints, etc.
- Knowledge of project management
Mandatory
- Experience in a very detail-oriented role
- Experience producing Auto CAD drawings or drafting experience
- Superior problem solving and reasoning skills
- Ability to work autonomously and manage workflow to meet fast paced and dynamically changing deadlines
- Readiness to accept responsibility for quality and completeness of work
- Ability to communicate clearly and articulately
- Positive, collaborative, a team player
Working conditions
Our team at Sloan Stone Design is very important to us. We believe in building our team based on shared values and the enjoyment of working together. We believe that the right person is more important than the most experienced.
This role primarily utilizes a computer. Our hours of operation are Monday to Friday between 8am and 5pm with occasional weekend work. The right candidate has a willingness to work overtime as needed to complete a dynamic workload.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $20.00-$23.00 per hour
