Job Description:

This position is on-call contract (seasonal). A successful candidate is required to be punctual with their own mode of transportation, can easily follow instructions and has a working knowledge of, and experience in facilities services, ice and snow services. These all must be performed with a thorough understanding of safety in the workplace. The position reports directly to the Site Lead and/or Operations Manager.

Responsibilities:

Job duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Availability – must be available and responsive during and after snow and ice events.
  • Snow Removal – Skid Steer, Loader, small tractors, shoveling, salting, hazard assessment.
  • Safety – tailgate talks, circle checks and hazard assessments, etc.
  • Equipment Maintenance – cleaning, greasing, minor repairs, appearance repairs etc.
  • Travel – infrequent, project or weather based.

Requirements:

  • Valid driver's license with reliable transportation and a clean abstract is required.
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in commercial snow removal required.
  • Minimum 3 years' experience operating loaders/skid steers.
  • Machine maintenance experience is an asset.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work well with team members.
  • Safety awareness of both employees and equipment.
  • Candidates for the position must possess a customer service attitude and conduct themselves in a professional manner.
  • Certificates in First Aid and WHMIS is an asset.

Job Types: Fixed term contract, Seasonal

Contract length: 5 months

Pay: $26.00-$32.00 per hour
