CNC Machine Repair Technician
Job Summary
Reporting to the Maintenance Leader, this role is responsible for installing, inspecting, adjusting, and repairing equipment while following safety rules and regulations. Other duties include maintaining all equipment to required standards and being responsive to production needs and equipment failures. This role works as part of a team but routinely performs work independently and maintains a high level of accuracy and safety while performing their duties.
Here's what a typical day looks like- Read diagrams and blueprints to determine work procedures
- Install machinery and mechanical equipment according to layout plans using hand and power tools
- Inspect and examine machinery and equipment to detect irregularities and malfunctions
- Adjust and repair or replacing defective parts
- Keep detailed and accurate maintenance reports and documentation
- Clean, lubricate and perform other routine maintenance work on machines
- Adhere to workplace safety policies, regulations, and compliances
- Maintaining a clean and environmentally safe work area
- Perform all other duties as assigned
- Grade 12 O.S.S.D. or equivalent
- Minimum of 5 (five) years of relevant work experience, working with CNC machines
- Knowledge of machining equipment, including Heidenhain and Fanuc controllers
- Able to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing
- Working knowledge of equipment safety standards
- Physically able to lift up-to 50 pounds
- Ability to operate a Forklift, Overhead Crane, and Genie Boom
- Proficient electrical skills
- Experience with MIG and TIG Welding
- Effective skills with ability to work effectively in a diverse working environment
- Red Seal ticket preferred
- Ability to work shift work (days and afternoon rotation), overtime and weekends when required.
