SENIOR MECHANICAL ESTIMATOR
The LAFRAMBOISE GROUP is seeking a Senior Mechanical estimator with Industrial project experience. This is a full-time position based out of Laframboise Group's corporate office located in Long Sault (Cornwall) Ontario.

Description of Position: Responsible for estimating the costs of a project or scope of Work that is associated with the Mechanical discipline including incorporating pricing from suppliers and subcontractors, and quantifying changes in scope.
- Estimating costs associated with the assembly and construction of equipment and components by studying plans and specifications and doing accurate quantity take-offs.
- Apply appropriate productivity rates and factors for the work and site conditions.
- Prepare bid documents that meet the requirements of the Laframboise Group and the client's RFP.
- Ensure the bid is prepared according to the RFP requirements, and it is complete and accurate.
- Develop and apply appropriate hourly rates for the schedule and work hours / shifts of the project.
- Evaluate and compare supplier and subcontractor pricing to determine the best value proposal.
- Review the project specific documents, site conditions to understand the Work.
- Solicit input from the proposal team regarding the procurement and construction strategy with a focus on constructability, efficiency, and safety.
- Perform bid to construct comparisons to quantify changes to the scope.
- Experience with relevant standards, codes and industry practices.
- Ensure Health & Safety Policies and provincial health and safety regulations are understood and followed.
- Apply current estimating standards and procedures.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Travel to project sites as required.
Skills & Experience
- 15+ years experience between working and estimating millwrighting type work for industrial projects $10MM+.
- Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and manage concurrent proposals and projects.
- Proficient at analyzing, managing, and administering contract documentation.
- Excellent analytical skills and with attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Bi-Lingual in French or Spanish a plus.
- Possess advanced proficiency in interpreting construction drawings and navigating the flow of Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs). Highly skilled in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel and SharePoint, as well as in the use of estimating software.
- Experience estimating other disciplines (ex. structural steel, sheet metal, vessels and tanks, piping, electrical) would be a plus
- Experience with the selection and implementation of an estimating software would be a plus.

- Competitive salary, commensurate with experience: (Range $50/hr. to $60/hr.)
