The Senior Partner, Talent Acquisition and Workforce Management will support innovative recruitment strategies and workforce initiatives that reinforce our mission of delivering an exceptional employee and learner experience.

In this dynamic role, you'll be at the heart of shaping Algonquin College's recruitment experience. Reporting to the Associate Manager, Talent Acquisition and Workforce Management, you'll lead full-cycle recruitment for a range of roles—from part-time positions to executive-level searches—delivering a personalized, consultative approach that reflects each client's unique needs and culture. You'll craft sourcing strategies that elevate Algonquin College's reputation as an employer of choice, while partnering with People Leaders to embed inclusion, equity, diversity, and accessibility (IDEA) into every step of the hiring journey. Leveraging Workday and emerging AI technologies, you'll streamline workflows, scale outreach, and generate insights that drive smarter, more inclusive hiring decisions. Your contributions will extend beyond recruitment; we are looking for a workforce management expert who can ensure the right people are in the right place at the right time. In this role, you'll manage staffing levels for the next 12 months, balancing resources to meet business needs while optimizing efficiency and service delivery. Your ability to analyze trends, interpret collective agreements, and collaborate with leaders will be key to maintaining operational stability and supporting our clients' success.

You'll also empower People Leaders through training and coaching and serve as a trusted advisor to senior leadership—offering expert guidance on hiring strategies, market trends, and talent analytics that shape the future of our workforce.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Supporting the design, development and implementation of talent acquisition strategies and processes for all employees at the College and leading various recruitment activities including sourcing, advertising/marketing, screening and interviewing, creating and managing diverse talent pools, candidate testing, and reference/credential checks;

  • Championing the employee value proposition (EVP) in the marketplace and collaborating with People Leaders to develop talent acquisition strategies for high volume recruitment up to senior executive positions. This includes providing advisement, coaching, and training on recruitment policies and processes, best in class sourcing techniques, candidate screening tools, and integrating equity and diversity into the end-to-end process;

  • Being proficient in Workday, the Colleges Human Resource Information System (HRIS), to support scalable recruitment processes, a best-in-class candidate experience and robust analytics to measure effectiveness and impact;

  • Driving the adoption and execution of a strategic workforce planning process to ensure schools and departments have the right talent, at the right time, with the right skills. This includes implementing workforce strategies while maintaining compliance with collective agreements, legislative requirements, and organizational policies;

  • Other Duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

  • Four (4) Year University Degree – preferably in Human Resources, Business or Psychology. Equivalent combination of relevant education and work experience may be accepted in place of formal education.

  • Minimum of one (1) additional professional qualification/certification in Human Resources Management, or in labour relations and talent acquisition is required . Ex. CHRP, CHRL, CEBS, RPR etc);

  • Professional training in the following areas: Strategic Planning Knowledge, Leadership Development Courses, Coaching Exposure, Project Management;

  • Minimum 7 years of progressive HR experience, including talent acquisition and workforce planning in a unionized environment;

  • Exceptional communication, coaching, and analytical skills;

  • Higher Education, Municipal and/or Hospital talent acquisition experience: Strong understanding of aligning pubic sector priorities with organizational requirements; considered a valuable asset;

  • HR Technology Expertise: Experience with HRIS (Human Resource Information System) platforms (Workday Preferred), ATS (Applicant Tracking Systems), and recruitment analytics tools;

  • Recruitment Technology Proficiency: Skilled in leveraging LinkedIn Recruiter, social media platforms, and other digital sourcing tools;

  • Influence: Ability to build strong relationships and drive collaboration by leveraging influence to achieve shared goals and strengthen organizational outcomes.

  • Equity, Diversity & Inclusion (EDI): Knowledge of bias training and EDI initiatives aimed at disrupting unconscious bias.

  • Process Improvement: Must excel in an environment focused on continuous process optimization and efficiency improvements
