Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Assistant to support our culinary team. This role is ideal for individuals passionate about the food industry, with a focus on serving, food preparation, and maintaining high standards of food safety. The Assistant will work closely with the head chef or manager to ensure smooth kitchen operations and excellent customer service. Prior restaurant or kitchen experience is preferred but not required; a strong interest in food service and meal preparation is essential. This position offers an opportunity to develop culinary skills in a dynamic environment. Plus, we are willing to train the right person even if they have no experience.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in food preparation and cooking to support the kitchen team
  • Serve dishes to customers efficiently and courteously
  • Handle food safely and maintain cleanliness standards in accordance with health regulations
  • Support meal assembly and presentation to ensure quality and consistency
  • Maintain proper food handling procedures during all stages of meal preparation
  • Assist with inventory management and restocking supplies as needed
  • Support the team during busy service hours, ensuring timely and efficient service
  • Follow all safety protocols and contribute to a clean, organized kitchen environment

Skills

  • Experience in food service, restaurant, or kitchen environments preferred
  • Knowledge of food handling, safety standards, and sanitation practices
  • Ability to assist with food preparation and cooking tasks effectively
  • Strong serving skills with a focus on customer satisfaction
  • Good communication skills and ability to work well within a team
  • Basic understanding of the food industry trends and standards
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
  • Willingness to learn new skills related to meal preparation and food safety

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $17.60-$17.65 per hour

Expected hours: 20 per week
