About You and this Role:
Dow is seeking driven individuals currently pursuing Power Engineering/Chemical Engineering Technology certifications to participate in our Spring 2026 Operations Practicum Program
These opportunities are located at our Fort Saskatchewan facility in Alberta, Canada.
As a member of our Operations Practicum Program, you will have the opportunity to gain experience and process time working alongside our operating technicians within our four world-scale production units that manufacture hydrocarbons, ethylene, polyethylene, and electricity
If selected, we anticipate a four-month commitment from May – August 2026.
Responsibilities:
In this role, you will assist operations technicians to optimize plant performance by monitoring process equipment and conditions, conducting field checks, adjusting control systems manually and operating equipment based on process controls in a safe, efficient and environmentally responsible manner.
Qualifications:
- A High School Diploma/GED or equivalent.
- Must be currently enrolled in a Power Engineering/Chemical Engineering Technology program and/or have completed Part A and B of 4th class Power Engineering program.
- Reliable attendance is an expectation of every Dow employee; therefore, students must be able to secure their own reliable transportation.
- A class 5 driver's license.
- Proficiency with computers to perform job tasks.
- A minimum requirement for this position is the ability to work legally in Canada. No visa sponsorship/support is available for this position, including any type of permanent residency support.
Must be willing and able to meet the physical demands of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation:
- Lift, push, and pull up to 55 lbs.
- Frequent bending, reaching, and lifting.
- Stand and/or walk for extended periods of time.
- Work at heights, climb stairs and ladders.
- Work in tight and closed in spaces.
- Wear all required personal protective equipment, including but not limited to respirator and face coverings.

Additional Notes:
