Overview on Our Company

EMF is a small business that has been in around for 22 years manufacturing Steering and Suspension Components for On-Street and Off-Road vehicles in Alberta. Over the last 10 years we have mainly been specializing in Dodge Ram trucks. We are very well known for our Rebuildable Dodge and Ford Ball Joints.

We have a strict QC Policy and strive to maintain tight tolerances and a high quality product.

We are seeking a CNC Operator to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining CNC machines to produce precision parts and components. The position offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic environment where mechanical knowledge and attention to detail are essential for success.

Duties

• Operate a DNC Solutions Lynx CNC machine.
• Program and edit CNC machines using Fanuc controls to ensure accurate production runs.
• Perform routine maintenance on CNC equipment.
• Conduct quality control inspections using calipers, hand tools, and other measuring devices to verify dimensions and tolerances.
• Set up tooling, fixtures, and workpieces accurately for machining operations.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area in compliance with safety standards.
• Assist with warehouse tasks such as packaging finished products and operating forklifts when necessary.
• Collaborate with team members on assembly processes and ensure adherence to production schedules.

Experience

• Experience with DNC Solutions machines or Fanuc programming is an asset, but not necessarily required. This machine is super easy to run for the right candidate so we can train if necessary.
• Knowledge of CNC programming languages and software including CAD/CAM systems like SolidWorks or similar platforms not necessary but is a plus if known.
• Familiarity with Fanuc controls and automation equipment is highly desirable but again, not mandatory.
• Experience with the use of hand tools is preferred.
• Basic math skills for measurements and calculations related to machining tolerances.
• Prior warehouse experience including forklift operation is a plus.

What Is Non-Negotiable

• Must Speak, Read, Write and Understand English completely. No exceptions.
• Must live within an hour driving distance to the shop and be ok with driving every day. If it's too far and you complain about the drive, this is not the right position for you.
• Must have a reliable vehicle to get to and from work.
• Must be able to work, want to work and come to work every day you are scheduled. You treat us well, we treat you well. If you don't want to work here, don't waste our time.
• Must be able to lift heavy from time to time. Buckets of coolant, steel bars, parts, boxes etc. If you can't lift more than your grandmother because of soft hands, or a prior injury - this isnt the job for you.
• Must be physically fit and able to bend, twist, move and stand all day. No exceptions. This is a physical job and requires physical activity. If you do not want to do physical activity, this isn't for you.
• Must have a sense of humour. We like to joke a lot. If your feelings get hurt easily, keep scrolling.
• Must have strong work ethic and learn quickly. Most of the time you will be working on your own, we are not there to hold your hand.
• No drug use or drinking. Immediate dismissal if you show up to work hungover, drunk or high.
• No headphones or cell phone use during the time on the machine. This is how machines break down and parts get scrapped. Full attention needs to be paid to what you're making.

If you find any of these non-negotiables being a "Red Flag" you are the red flag - Don't waste our time, don't apply.

I know, it's a long list. But we are trying to find the right person to add to our team so we are allowed to be picky We are in no rush to find the right person and willing to look at someone without experience that may be the right fit looking to break into the machining trade.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $30.00 per hour
