Thorold Auto Parts & Recycling is currently seeking a highly motivated and dedicated individual to join our team as a Dismantler. This role is pivotal in ensuring a superior customer experience through the meticulous extraction of high-quality auto parts in adherence to safety protocols and efficiency standards. Our commitment lies in delivering accurately described, top-notch parts to our clientele.
Key Responsibilities:
- Obtain and clarify work orders from the shop supervisor or sales personnel, ensuring a comprehensive understanding of dismantling/cut requirements.
- Safely and efficiently remove parts from vehicles, prioritizing minimal impact on adjacent parts that can be resold.
- Clean and meticulously prepare parts as per work order specifications, returning them to the Quality Control department.
- Maintain a pristine yard environment by promptly removing and disposing of debris generated during parts removal.
- Ensure the upkeep and maintenance of company yard vehicles and associated tools. Report any issues to the shop supervisor for necessary repairs or replacements.
- Adhere to the company policy by returning all incomplete work orders to the shop supervisor daily, avoiding any work orders or parts left on yard vehicles.
Requirements:
- Hands-on experience in automotive dismantling is mandatory.
- Proficiency in using hand tools, air tools, and torches.
- Basic understanding of vehicle part functionality is essential.

Physical Demands/Work Environment:
- Ability to sit, stand, bend, and move intermittently.
- Capable of intense physical labor and repetitive lifting, with a minimum lifting capacity of 75lbs.
- Comfortable working outdoors in diverse weather conditions.
- Exposure to moving mechanical parts, office settings, extreme temperatures, and moderate noise levels.
- No lifting restrictions, no fear of heights, and tolerance for various temperature levels and occasional inclement driving conditions.
This is a full-time position with a day shift continental schedule. Includes benefits, RRSP match etc.
