Thorold Auto is looking to add a dismantler to our team. The Dismantler plays a critical role in ensuring a positive customer experience. We pride ourselves on providing our customers with a quality part as described. The Dismantler is responsible for properly removing high-quality auto parts in a safe, efficient, and proper manner. We are seeking a highly motivated individual who must work in a fast-paced environment, hardworking, dedicated automobile dismantler. Excelling at this position you must be able to multitask, communicate well with others, **have hands-on automotive dismantling experience**. This person needs to be very goal orientated and willing to work at a very fast pace while maintaining the quality and accuracy set forth in the job expectations. **Essential Job Duties**:
- obtain work orders from shop supervisor and verify any questions concerning dismantle/cut requirements either from supervisor of from salesperson on record
- remove parts from vehicles in a safe and timely manner. Parts are to be removed in a manner that causes the least amount of effect to the adjacent parts that can also be sold later.
- clean parts and then take work order sheet and part back to the Quality Control personal
- maintaining a clean bay by removing and disposing of any debris created in the removal of parts.
- Responsible for own tools
- Other duties as assigned
**Experience**: **Must have hands-on automotive dismantling experience.**
**Knowledge/Skills/Abilities**: Must have a basic understanding of the function of each part of a vehicle. Must use hand tools, air tools, and torches.
**Essential Physical Demands/Work Environment**: Sits, stands, bends, and moves intermittently. Subject to intense physical labor and repetitive lifting. Must be able to lift at least 75lbs.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts, as well as an office environment. The noise level in the work environment is moderately loud. Should not have any lifting restrictions and must not be afraid of heights.
**Salary**: $18.00-$20.00 per hour
