These companies work together to elevate the guest experience for short-term rentals across three regions: Canada, the United States and Mexico. Return Policy is a design-led short-term rental and boutique-hospitality brand creating elevated, hotel-inspired stays across urban markets. Our spaces are thoughtfully designed, and how they are visually represented is central to our brand, performance, and guest experience.
Position Summary
We are seeking an In-House Photographer to support our growing portfolio and ensure every property is captured with intention, consistency, and commercial impact. The In-House Photographer plays a critical role in how Return Policy's properties are marketed and perceived. This role goes beyond documentation — it requires a strong understanding of real estate and hotel photography, the ability to identify and capture hero shots that drive bookings, and a passion for visual storytelling.
You will collaborate closely with our Listings, Design, and Operations teams to deliver high-quality photography that performs across booking platforms, marketing assets, and brand materials. The role will also support our in-house content, social events, and so much more
This is a full-time freelance role, ideal for a photographer who thrives in a fast-paced environment and can consistently execute at a high standard.
Key Responsibilities
- Photograph a minimum of 15 properties per month, including interiors, exteriors, and amenities
- Identify and capture hero shots that maximize listing performance and visual impact
- Shoot neighbourhood, street-level, and cityscape imagery to support listings and brand storytelling
- Stage and adjust spaces on-site to achieve optimal composition and lighting
- Deliver fully edited, platform-ready images within defined timelines
- Maintain consistency in framing, exposure, and overall aesthetic across the portfolio
- Collaborate with internal teams on shot lists, scheduling, and priorities
- Stay informed on emerging photography tools and AI-assisted workflows that can enhance efficiency, consistency, or post-production quality
- Involved in and manage art direction for each shoot, which may include supporting with staging to ensure finished product executed well.
Qualifications
- Mid-level professional photographer with experience or strong understanding of hospitality, lifestyle, architectural and/or hotel photography.
- Demonstrated ability to capture hero images that directly impact marketing and conversion
- Own professional photography equipment required (camera body, lenses, tripod and lighting)
- Strong technical knowledge of lighting, composition, and post-production
- Understanding of how AI can play a role in photography, including editing, enhancement, or workflow optimization
- Passion for photography and a strong eye and attention to detail
- Highly organized, reliable, and able to manage a consistent monthly workload
- Based in Toronto and able to commute locally. Occasional travel to our other properties in New York city may be required.
- Must hold a valid G license driver's license and Passport.
- Experience in short-term rental or hospitality environments is considered a strong asset
- Flexibility to work across multiple time zones (Toronto, Mexico, New York).
