Our busy team is looking for a skilled Journeyman/woman Automotive Technician to join our growing team

Key Responsibilities:

  • Adjust, repair or replace parts and components of commercial transport truck systems. Inspect and test mechanical units to locate faults and malfunctions.
  • Adjust, repair or replace parts and components of automotive systems.
  • Adjust, repair or replace parts and components of truck-trailer systems.
  • Repair or replace mechanical units or components.
  • Test and adjust repaired systems to manufacturer's specifications.
  • Quality control road tests and after repair checks to ensure quality and safety.
  • Estimate parts and labour cost to perform vehicle maintenance and repairs.
  • Communicate and consult with employees from all levels of organization.
  • Perform scheduled maintenance service.
  • Test and adjust units to specifications.
  • Advise customers on work performed and future repair requirements.
  • Complete reports to record problems and work performed.
  • Maintain accurate records of all service, repair and work performed.
  • Coach and instruct apprentices.
  • Positive attitude towards exceptional customer service
  • Follow and Comply with all health, safety, environmental and HR procedures.
  • Maintain a clean and safe working environment.

Area of specialization:

  • Engine and Powertrain: Repair, overhaul, and diagnostics of engines, 4-wheel drive systems, transmissions (automatic and standard), drive train components, and fuel and emission systems.
  • Electrical and Diagnostics: Electrical, electronic, and ignition systems troubleshooting and repair.
  • Suspension and Braking: Alignment, steering, suspension, and hydraulic brake systems maintenance.
  • Specialized Systems: HVAC, imported vehicles, front-end components, and truck-trailer repair.

Job Requirements and Qualifications:

  • Work Environment & Physical Demands: Fast-paced setting requiring manual dexterity, hand-eye coordination, attention to detail, and the ability to stand for extended periods. Must provide own tools.
  • Essential Qualities: Accuracy, client focus, dependability, flexibility, sound judgment, reliability, strong communication, and teamwork skills.
  • Security, Safety, and Transportation Requirements: Bondable, with criminal and driving record checks required. Must have a valid driver's license, own vehicle, and ability to drive a manual transmission.
  • Education: Registered Apprenticeship certificate or equivalent experience.

Certifications & Licenses:

  • Journeyperson Technician Certification (2–5 years of related experience preferred).
  • Automotive Service Technician Red Seal
  • Specialty Mechanic Certifications - Considered an Asset
  • Additional: CVIP Motor Vehicle Inspector Certificate and a valid driver's license. Experience with diesel engines preferred.
