Your Mission:

As a dedicated Talent Acquisition Specialist (TA Specialist), your mission is to support the growth of AfterShip by managing full-cycle recruitment initiatives for a range of roles (e.g., technical, go-to-market, and general management). The recruiter will aim to attract, engage, and retain top talent that aligns with our organizational goals and values. By fostering strong relationships with hiring managers and candidates alike, the TA Specialist will ensure a seamless and efficient recruitment experience that not only fulfills immediate staffing needs but also contributes to the long-term success and growth of the organization.

Reporting to the Head of People, this TA Specialist will work closely on closing all headcount requests as needed. You will be expected to be in the office 1-2 times per week, located in downtown Toronto.

What You'll Do:

  • Sourcing: Utilize various outbound channels (job boards, Linkedin recruiter, social media, networking) to identify and attract top talent.
  • Screening: Conduct thorough resume reviews and initial phone interviews to assess candidate qualifications and fit.
  • Interviewing: Schedule and facilitate interviews with hiring managers, providing guidance on best practices.
  • Full-Cycle Candidate Management: Maintain regular communication with candidates throughout the hiring process, providing updates and feedback.
  • Offer Negotiation: Collaborate with hiring managers to develop competitive offers and negotiate terms with selected candidates.
  • Onboarding: Coordinate the onboarding process for new hires, ensuring a smooth transition into the company and doing the background checks & reference checks. You are the key point of contact until successfully passed off to the People Operations team.
  • Data Management: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in the applicant tracking system (ATS). Keep your ATS platforms clean.
  • Market Research: Stay informed on industry trends and best practices in recruitment and talent acquisition.
  • Collaboration: Partner with hiring managers to understand their needs and develop effective recruitment strategies.
  • Talent Mapping: Projects related to doing market research on other companies and key companies or employees

Who We're Looking For:

  • 2–3 years of recruitment experience, ideally in tech/SaaS.
  • Strong knowledge of full-cycle recruitment and sourcing strategies.
  • Excellent communication, relationship-building, and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience working with ATS software (Greenhouse preferred) and other recruitment tools (LinkedIn Recruiter, job boards, sourcing platforms).
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple roles simultaneously.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and work collaboratively with global teams.
  • Curious, proactive, and passionate about building strong candidate experiences.

At AfterShip, we know great talent doesn't always fit every requirement. If you're passionate about our mission and believe you can make an impact, we encourage you to apply.

Why You Should Join Us:

  • Great Place to Work Certified: We've been recognized for our inclusive, values-driven culture that celebrates diversity and collaboration.
  • Innovative & Inclusive Culture: Started by our software engineer-turned-CEO, AfterShip is built on curiosity, creativity, and collaboration. We're a passionate, global team of problem solvers who put egos aside to innovate together. We take immense pride in fostering a culture that's inclusive, which has allowed us to surround ourselves with the industry's most talented professionals.
  • Ambitious Mission with Real Impact: Join us in transforming eCommerce by making buying and selling easier for everyone. It's one of the most dynamic spaces in tech, with limitless opportunities to innovate and grow.
  • Thrive & Grow: There's no ceiling to what you can achieve or learn here. We're committed to empowering your career while advancing together as a company.
  • Flexible Work Setup: We're a remote-first team, meaning by default that employees work from home or on a hybrid-flexible basis in our hub locations (i.e., Toronto, Austin, Barcelona). You're empowered to choose a work setup that works best for you and your team. With flexible hours depending on your time zone, you'll be able to have a schedule that fits your working style and the requirements of your role.

Perks:

  • Competitive compensation
  • Remote-first/hybrid-flexible work setups
  • Healthcare coverage offered from day 1
  • Retirement plans including company match
  • Annual learning & wellness benefit
  • Monthly book perk
  • Career progression & professional development
  • In-office lunch and commuter benefits for those located in our hub locations

We are an equal opportunity employer and provide accommodations upon request throughout the recruitment process, in accordance with local legislation. Please let us know if you require any support, and we'll work with you to meet your needs.

We believe in hiring right over hiring fast. While timelines may vary, we're looking to fill this role as soon as possible.
