Position Overview

We are seeking Casual Residential Support Workers to join our caring and professional team. This flexible position is ideal for individuals looking for meaningful part-time or on-call work while making a positive impact in their community.

Casual staff play a vital role in maintaining consistency and quality support for individuals living in residential care settings. You will assist with daily routines, personal care, skill development, and community inclusion—ensuring each person receives the highest level of care and respect.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide support with daily living tasks, including personal care, meal preparation, and household duties.
  • Build trusting, respectful relationships with residents while maintaining a safe and inclusive environment.
  • Follow individualized care and behavioral support plans.
  • Encourage independence, communication, and life-skills development.
  • Accurately document activities, progress, and incidents using ShareVision.
  • Support residents with community outings, appointments, and recreational activities.
  • Respond calmly and effectively to crises or behavioral incidents.
  • Communicate clearly with coworkers, supervisors, and external professionals.
  • Participate in staff training and uphold agency policies and confidentiality.
  • Assist with light housekeeping and home maintenance as required.

Qualifications

  • Diploma or certificate in Social Services, Human Services, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Experience supporting individuals with developmental disabilities or behavioral challenges is an asset.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a calm, compassionate, and solution-focused approach.
  • Comfortable using technology (ShareVision, Gmail, Google Docs, Drive).
  • Physically capable of performing moderate care tasks (up to 20 lbs).
  • Flexible availability for a variety of shifts, including weekends and holidays.

Casual Employment Expectations

  • Casual employees must work a minimum of three (3) shifts per month to remain active on the casual roster.
  • Shifts may be scheduled in advance or offered on short notice depending on program needs.
  • Availability for both weekday and weekend shifts is preferred.

Required Certifications and Documentation

  • Valid First Aid & CPR Certification
  • Food Safe Certification
  • Negative TB Test
  • Provincial Criminal Record Check (Children & Vulnerable Adults)
  • MCFD Criminal Record Check (Youth / HUB Clearance)
  • Health Clearance Certificate
  • Class 5 Driver's License and reliable vehicle (with business insurance and $3 M liability coverage, if applicable)
  • Clear Driver's Abstract
  • Mandt Certification (training provided upon hire)

Job Type: Casual / On-CallSchedule: Flexible — 7 AM – 3 PM, 3 PM – 11 PM, 11 PM – 7 AM (including weekends & holidays)Compensation & Benefits
