General Job Description:

Pathway Community Services Ltd. Provides residential support services to children with a wide range of abilities and challenges, who have been diagnosed with  ADHD, OCD, FASD, ASD, developmental delays , mental health issues , as well as high risk behaviours. In order to work successfully within  our team, the ideal candidate should  have a strong work ethic and a high standard of practice in all areas.

As well, the ideal candidate should have the flexibility and willingness to work with children who may present high risk and challenging behaviours. Availability to engage in ongoing training is needed. Managing emergency situations in a stressful environment is an ongoing expectation. Evening and weekend work is required.

Knowledge and adherence to Pathway Community Services Ltd's policies is expected.

Responsibilities:

  • To collaboratively assist with the day-to-day operations of the residence in order to maintain a high standard of living within our communities
  • To dependably implement  every individual's plan of care exactly as written  
  • To provide a safe, structured, educational and developmentally appropriate home environment that promotes a sense of well-being, self-confidence, belonging and independence for the individual.
  • To collaborate with the individuals and their larger network to pro-actively promote opportunities for inclusion in all environments.
  • To efficiently meet all documentation requirements within established timelines
  • To commit to  all scheduled shifts.

Requirements:

Requirements/ Assets

  • 2 years relavant work experience
  • Certificate and/or degree in the Social Services or related field  
  • Must have BC Class 5 driver's license
  • NVCI or MANDT (preferred)
  • Commitment  and adherence to all points in Job Description
