What You'll Be Doing

The mandate of Procurement is to provide contracting and supplier management services utilizing disciplined governance to enable CIBC to effectively execute its business priorities in the United States. Procurement is responsible for executing contracts for the supply of products and services with an optimal balance of price, risk, quality, and organizational impact. The team also provides support for CIBC vendor management programs and procurement applications.

As a Senior Procurement Consultant (US), you will manage and execute end-to-end procurement opportunities to drive cost savings, process efficiencies, and risk mitigation. You will leverage your strong contract drafting and negotiation skills to support a broad range of spend categories. Your expertise will ensure the successful execution and implementation of procurement initiatives within relevant expenditure categories.

CIBC we enable the work environment most optimal for you to thrive in your role. You'll have the flexibility to manage your work activities within a hybrid work arrangement where you'll spend 1-2 days per week on-site, while other days may be remote.

How You'll Succeed

  • Relationship Building – Provide professional, high-quality support to CIBC business owners and cross-functional teams across the organization.
  • Liaise and interact with internal stakeholders and suppliers as part of the daily management of your portfolio.
  • Communication Engage regularly with business leaders and senior management to fulfill their contracting needs with suppliers.
  • Work closely with suppliers to implement procurement strategies and finalize agreements.
  • Negotiation strategy – Lead contract drafting and negotiations with suppliers, ensuring favorable terms and alignment with business objectives.
  • Oversee the execution of agreements, ensuring compliance with internal policies and required approvals.
  • Administration - Ensure business stakeholders and procurement partners are equipped with accurate and timely information to make informed decisions.

  • You demonstrated experience capturing business requirements from various internal stakeholders and translating them into clear and concise supplier requirements. You are adept at managing internal and external clients, leading projects, and effectively managing multiple procurement initiatives and stakeholders.
