Salary: $40.00/hr - $45.00/hr (annual salary of $83,200 - $93,600) dependent upon skills and experience
Job Summary:
We're looking for a Lead Material Handling Equipment (MHE) Technician to guide and support a team that keeps our forklifts, pallet jacks, and other equipment running smoothly. You'll help assign work, troubleshoot problems, and make sure repairs are done safely and properly. This role is a mix of hands-on repair work and leading others, all in a busy warehouse environment.

What You Will Do:

  • Lead and support a small team of technicians, sharing your knowledge and helping them grow.
  • Assign and track daily repair and maintenance tasks.
  • Troubleshoot and repair forklifts, pallet jacks, and related equipment (electric and propane).
  • Carry out preventative maintenance to keep equipment reliable.
  • Make sure all repairs meet safety standards before equipment goes back into service.
  • Communicate with managers and the team to keep work moving smoothly.
  • Help with new equipment setups, upgrades, and battery maintenance.
  • Keep records of repairs, parts used, and completed work.
  • Promote safe work practices and set a positive example for the team.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 3–5 years of experience fixing forklifts, pallet jacks, or similar equipment.
  • 1+ year of experience leading or mentoring others is an asset.
  • Comfortable with mechanical and electrical repairs (hydraulics, batteries, motors).
  • Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
  • Able to lift up to 50 lbs. and work in a busy warehouse environment.

Working Conditions:

  • Warehouse environment with machinery, noise, and changing temperatures.
  • Some evening or weekend work may be required.
  • Physical work may involve lifting, bending, and standing for long periods.
