Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site role for a Lead HVAC Technician Commercial located in the Greater Vancouver Metropolitan Area. The Lead HVAC Technician will be responsible for installing, maintaining, repairing, and upgrading commercial HVAC systems. Daily tasks involve diagnosing and troubleshooting system issues, performing preventive maintenance, and ensuring all work meets safety and regulatory standards. The role also includes completing necessary documentation and collaborating with other team members to ensure project success.
Qualifications
- Strong skills in Troubleshooting to efficiently diagnose and resolve HVAC system issues
- Knowledge of EPA regulations and compliance standards for safe and environmentally responsible practices
- Understanding of Electricity as it applies to HVAC systems and associated components
- Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities
- Proven ability to work in a collaborative team environment and communicate effectively with team members and clients
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical certifications related to HVAC are preferred
- Previous experience in a similar role in the commercial HVAC industry is an asset
- Interpret mechanical drawings and controls schematics.
- Perform advanced diagnostics and commissioning.
- Coordinate project activities with managers and contractors.
- Mentor apprentices and junior technicians
- Red Seal Refrigeration & Air Conditioning Mechanic or Sheet Metal Worker.
- Class B or A Gas Fitter an asset.
- 5+ years commercial HVAC experience, including lead-level work.
- Strong understanding of VRF, hydronics, ventilation, and controls.
