Job Summary

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Assistant Manager/Sales Associate to join our retail team. This role combines leadership responsibilities with direct customer engagement, ensuring smooth store operations, excellent customer service, and effective sales strategies. The ideal candidate will possess strong management skills, a passion for retail, and the ability to motivate and develop team members. This position offers an opportunity to grow within a fast-paced environment while contributing to the overall success of our store.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in managing daily store operations, including opening and closing procedures
  • Lead and supervise sales associates, providing training and development to enhance team performance
  • Drive sales through effective customer engagement, product knowledge, and upselling techniques
  • Oversee inventory management, including stock replenishment, merchandising, and inventory control
  • Handle cashiering duties such as cash handling, POS transactions, and balancing registers accurately
  • Coordinate purchasing activities and manage vendor relationships to ensure product availability
  • Implement marketing initiatives and promotional campaigns to boost store traffic and sales
  • Monitor store cleanliness, organization, and safety compliance at all times
  • Conduct employee orientation, interviewing potential candidates, and participating in recruiting efforts
  • Manage scheduling shifts and ensure adequate staffing levels during peak hours
  • Maintain administrative records including payroll processing, bookkeeping, and sales reports
  • Ensure excellent customer service by addressing inquiries, resolving complaints, and maintaining high satisfaction levels

Skills

  • Strong leadership with previous assistant manager or supervisory experience in retail or grocery settings
  • Excellent communication skills with proficiency in bilingual or multilingual capabilities preferred
  • Skilled in negotiation, sales management, merchandising, and marketing strategies
  • Proficient in POS systems, inventory management software, and retail math calculations
  • Experienced in employee training & development, team management, and scheduling shifts
  • Knowledge of budgeting, purchasing, cash handling, and bookkeeping processes
  • Ability to handle customer service issues professionally with phone etiquette expertise
  • Organizational skills with attention to detail for inventory control and store presentation
  • Time management skills to prioritize tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment
  • Demonstrated ability to supervise staff effectively while fostering a positive team atmosphere

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00-$25.00 per hour
