Journeyman and Apprentice Electrician (2nd Year or Higher)

Bow River Electric Ltd. – Calgary, AB

Bow River Electric Ltd. is a small, family-owned electrical contractor proudly serving Calgary and surrounding areas since 1984. We're looking for motivated Journeyman and Apprentice Electricians (2nd year or higher) who want to grow their skills in a supportive, hands-on environment.

Responsibilities

  • Install, maintain, and troubleshoot electrical systems in commercial, light industrial, and residential projects
  • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications
  • Follow the Canadian Electrical Code (CEC) and company safety standards
  • Bend conduit, pull wire, cut TECK cable, terminate devices, and assist with service calls
  • Work collaboratively with journeymen and project leads to complete jobs efficiently and safely

Qualifications

  • Registered Electrical Apprentice (2nd year or higher) or certified Journeyman Electrician
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
  • Basic PPE (steel-toe boots, hard hat, safety glasses) and personal hand tools
  • Strong work ethic, attention to detail, and commitment to safety
  • Willingness to work occasional overtime or weekends

What We Offer

  • Journeyman rate: $39.00–$42.00 per hour (depending on experience and foreman responsibility)
  • Apprentice scale: 50–80% of journeyman rate
  • Vacation & holiday pay: 10% on all regular hours

Assets (Preferred but Not Required)

  • Aerial platform or scissor lift certification
  • Commercial or service work experience
  • Strong physical fitness and positive attitude

Job Types: Full-time, Apprenticeship

Pay: $39.00-$42.00 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
