Purpose** The Recruiter is responsible executing recruitment strategies to attract, hire, and retain skilled professionals, tradespeople, and operational staff within a high-volume environment. This role focuses on building a robust talent pipeline to meet fluctuating workforce demands driven by projects, production targets, and business growth.

Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end recruitment for a high volume of roles, including skilled trades, technical specialists, engineers, operators, and administrative staff
• Source candidates through multiple channels (job boards, social media, trade schools, job fairs, community programs etc).
• Implement workforce attraction initiatives to support operational needs
• Ensure all recruitment activities comply with employment laws, collective agreements, and company policies.
• Maintain accurate recruitment metrics, applicant tracking, and reporting through HRIS or ATS systems.
• Manage background checks, pre-employment medicals, and onboarding logistics for large cohorts of new hires.
• Promote the company as an employer of choice in heavy industry sectors through branding campaigns, partnerships, and community engagement.
• Deliver a consistent and positive candidate experience at every stage of the recruitment process.
• Build strong relationships with hiring managers to understand operational needs and ensure timely talent delivery.
• Liaise with external recruitment agencies, training institutions, and labor hire providers to ensure workforce availability.

Training and Education

• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• 3–5+ years of recruitment experience, preferably within heavy industry, manufacturing, or high-volume environments.
• Proven experience managing end-to-end recruitment for trade, technical, and administrative roles
  Proficiency in ATS/HRIS systems and sourcing tools (- Recruiter, Indeed etc)
• Experience in unionized environments
• Knowledge of safety and compliance requirements for industrial roles.
• Familiarity with apprenticeship or trainee program management.
