JOB OVERVIEW
The Supply Chain (SC) Supervisor reports to the Supply Chain Manager (YLW) and is responsible for providing leadership, guidance, direction and development to the Shipping, Receiving and Supply Chain Support roles at the Hamilton facility. A high level of customer service is expected to support KF's customers in YHM plus the business in general including Kelowna, Southport, Vancouver, 3rd party Customers and KF's ATR, Convair and Aeroflyer Fleets.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Main Responsibilities
- Expertise and effectiveness leading our people in Supply Chain (SC) Management
- Monitor workload, driving priorities, fostering teamwork & cross skilling of Supply Chain Support
- Evaluate resource requirements; identify opportunities to focus on value added work in the team
- Ensure the team is familiar with and adheres to all applicable policies and procedures
- Monitor and ensure all LMS and Practical Training for each role is completed on time
- Support & implement Continuous Improvement Initiatives
- Develop strong relationships with team members, internal departments, and customers
- Collaborate with all SC Supervisors & SC Manager
- Develop strategies to achieve corporate objectives and grow the team for future opportunities
- AOG on call support 24/7, on a rotational basis
- Act as backup for KF's Trade Compliance & Customs Support Specialist
Shipping
- Ensure compliance with all shipping regulations and procedures
- Apply diligent packaging techniques for aircraft parts, tooling & material
- Use approved couriers and freight providers effectively
- Apply Dangerous Goods/Hazardous Goods & ESD regulations
- Provide quotes and track critical shipments
- Collaborate with customers to confirm shipping methods and priorities
- Troubleshoot issues and maintain shipping logs
Customs
- Work with KF's Trade Compliance and Customs Support Specialist to ensure: -
Customer aircraft and parts are imported/exported with minimal delay
KF adheres to CBSA regulations
Receiving
- Ensure compliance with all receiving regulations and procedures
- Perform detailed inspections of parts, materials, and tooling
- Coordinate with customers for drop shipments
- Ensure all materials are labeled, certified, and documented per regulations
- Quarantine and reject items not meeting requirements
- Resolve issues with Quality, Customers, and Purchasing
Supply Chain Support (Tooling & Equipment, Shipping, Receiving)
- Follow processes for tooling & equipment repairs, calibration, rentals, and new purchases
- Collaborate with customers, procurement, and vendors
- Ensure tools are serviced, tracked, and available for maintenance projects
- Monitor calibration, replacements, and returns of tools
- Collaborate across sites to maintain ERP accuracy and compliance
- Support safety inspections and cross-skill for shipping/receiving support
Documentation & Administration
- Research ERP data, maintain certification documentation
- Review Supply Chain Process Manual for accuracy
- Manage timecards, time off, and overtime approvals in ADP
Customer Service & Accountability
- Display a professional attitude and proactive customer service
- Challenge status quo and suggest improvements
- Follow up with customers and coach team members to do the same
- Communicate effectively and collaboratively
- Check in with team members, evaluate workload, and drive priorities
Manager Support
- Recommend and engage in process improvements
- Support training, performance reviews, and hiring
- Maintain positive work environment and resolve conflicts
- Approve hours, create schedules, and assist in projects impacting corporate objectives
REQUIREMENTS
- Minimum 5–8 years of Supply Chain experience with proven leadership ability
- Effective leadership and communication skills
- Working towards or holding CPIM, SCMP, CSCP, or related certification (or willingness to complete)
- Dangerous Goods certification (in-house), Receiving Inspector and Forklift certification (in-house)
- Valid driver's license and Grade 12 Diploma
- Understanding of Customs/CBSA regulations
- Strong ERP and MS Office skills
- Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and customer service skills
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities
