Our organization is a fast-paced, matrixed, and highly dynamic environment, supporting a diverse workforce of over 1,000 employees across the Americas. The Principal HR Generalist plays a critical role—supporting populations across the Americas, UK&I, EMEA, and APAC regions. As a key partner to the Americas regional HR Business Partners (HRBPs), this role helps drive business strategy by delivering data-driven insights, supporting HR operations, and enabling the execution of people initiatives at scale.

The Principal HR Generalist collaborates across regions, leverages analytics to inform decision-making, and ensures operational excellence in a high-growth, matrixed environment. We are seeking a dynamic HR professional who thrives in ambiguity, operates with speed and agility, and champions AMS's culture of high performance and growth. The ideal candidate will be comfortable navigating multifaceted challenges, collaborating across borders, and driving impactful people initiatives in a rapidly evolving setting.

Key Accountabilities

Data & Analytics

  • Collect, analyze, and report HR data to support workforce planning, talent management, and business decisions.
  • Develop dashboards and reports for HRBPs and leaders, identifying trends and providing actionable insights.

HR Operations & Process Improvement

  • Support and enhance HR processes by leveraging data and technology for efficiency.
  • Ensure accuracy, compliance, and integrity of HR records, and coordinate HR projects and initiatives.

Support to Regional HRBPs

  • Serve as a key partner to HRBPs, delivering analytical and operational support across the employee lifecycle.
  • Prepare data for talent reviews, compensation cycles, and organizational changes, collaborating with COEs and cross-functional teams.

Talent, Compensation & Benefits

  • Contribute to compensation benchmarking, salary surveys, and benefits analysis.
  • Provide support to talent acquisition and onboarding to ensure a seamless candidate and employee experience.

Change & Transformation

  • Provide data and insights to support organizational change initiatives.
  • Communicate effectively to influence outcomes and drive engagement during transitions.
Skills & Experience

HR Core Functions & Business Partnership:

  • Proven experience supporting core HR functions across large organizations or multinational environments, with expertise in the U.S. and Mexico required; experience in Canada and the U.K. is a strong plus.

Data Analytics & Reporting:

  • Strong analytical mindset with the ability to collect, interpret, and visualize HR data to support decision-making.
  • Skilled in creating dashboards, reports, and presentations for HRBPs and senior leaders. Advanced proficiency in Excel (pivot tables, formulas, charts) and familiarity with Power BI or Tableau.

Stakeholder Management & Communication:

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build trusted partnerships with HRBPs, business leaders, and cross-functional teams. Confident in presenting data-driven insights and influencing decisions.

HR Operations & Process Optimization:

  • Demonstrated ability to improve HR processes by leveraging technology and data.
  • Experienced in maintaining data accuracy and compliance, coordinating HR projects, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.

Change & Transformation Support:

  • Experienced in supporting organizational change and transformation projects through effective communication, analytical insights, and operational alignment.

Technical Proficiency:

  • Hands-on experience with HRIS platforms (Workday preferred), Microsoft 365 tools (Teams, SharePoint, PowerPoint), and collaboration systems. Strong understanding of data integrity, privacy, and compliance standards.
