Reporting to the Vice President Academics, the Project Manager will lead the successful execution of Phase 2 of the Knowledge Weavers initiative—a transformative digital hub grounded in Indigenous knowledge systems and designed to empower Indigenous educators across Canada. This leadership role demands both strategic oversight and operational execution, ensuring the project meets its ambitious goals in digital transformation, resource creation, professional development, and national collaboration.

Duties:

Strategic Leadership & Oversight

  • Lead and manage the execution of Phase 2 of the National Indigenous Educator Resource Hub project.
  • Ensure alignment with Indigenous knowledge systems, the Seven Generations principles, and OCAP standards.
  • Collaborate with Elders, Knowledge Keepers, and community partners to maintain cultural integrity.

Team & Partnership Coordination

  • Supervise a multidisciplinary team including content developers, IT personnel, researchers, and cultural advisors.
  • Coordinate with post-secondary institutions, Indigenous organizations, and national education stakeholders.
  • Oversee contracts and schedules with external partners and consultants.

Program Development

  • Support the design and delivery of new resources, including 50+ culturally grounded teaching tools.
  • Oversee Kinship Learning Networks (KLNs), micro-credentialing pilots, and mentorship programming.
  • Ensure timely development of digital learning modules in collaboration with technology partners.

Monitoring, Evaluation & Reporting

  • Develop and maintain work plans, timelines, and performance metrics for each project component.
  • Track progress and produce quarterly reports and a comprehensive final project report.
  • Support data collection for the baseline research study on Indigenous educator retention.

Event Planning & Engagement

  • Co-lead the planning of a National Indigenous Educators' Symposium.
  • Support ongoing community and stakeholder engagement and feedback mechanisms.
  • Facilitate national outreach efforts and policy advocacy initiatives.

Qualifications:

A Bachelor's degree in Education, Indigenous Studies, Public Administration, or a related field. Minimum 5 years of project oversight or leadership experience, preferably in Indigenous-led or education-focused projects.

Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities Required

  • Demonstrated commitment to Indigenous knowledge systems, languages, and community engagement.
  • Strong understanding of systemic issues in Indigenous education, especially educator recruitment and retention.
  • Experience with budget management, team supervision, and strategic planning.
  • Excellent communication, facilitation, and organizational skills.
  • Experience in managing digital or educational platforms.
  • Familiarity with OCAP Principles and culturally responsive education practices.
  • Previous involvement in national or interprovincial Indigenous education initiatives.
  • Knowledge of land-based learning and Indigenous language revitalization efforts.
  • Lived experience as an Indigenous person is strongly preferred.

Salary Range: APT Grade 8 ($82,985 - $111, 884)
