Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and reliable Trailer Mechanic to join our maintenance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a variety of trailer and heavy equipment systems. This role requires strong mechanical knowledge, proficiency with hand and power tools, and experience working with industrial and automotive repair. The Trailer Mechanic will ensure all equipment operates safely and efficiently, supporting the overall productivity of our operations.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and troubleshoot issues on trailers, heavy machinery, and industrial equipment using schematics and technical manuals
  • Perform repairs and maintenance on trailers, including brake systems, electrical wiring, hydraulics, and structural components
  • Operate heavy equipment such as excavators, cranes, forklifts, and other industrial machinery as needed for repairs or inspections
  • Utilize welding skills to repair or reinforce trailer frames and components
  • Conduct routine inspections to identify potential problems before they result in breakdowns
  • Use hand tools, power tools, and specialized maintenance equipment to complete repairs efficiently
  • Follow safety protocols during all maintenance activities to ensure a safe working environment
  • Maintain detailed records of repairs, inspections, and parts used for each trailer or piece of equipment

Experience

  • Dealership experience is highly desirable
  • Proven mechanic experience with automotive repair, heavy equipment operation, or industrial machinery maintenance
  • Familiarity with excavator, crane, forklift operation, and farm machinery is a plus
  • Knowledge of HVAC systems related to trailers or industrial environments is beneficial
  • Skilled in welding, electrical troubleshooting, schematics reading, and assembly tasks
  • Experience with heavy lifting using appropriate safety techniques
  • Strong customer service skills to communicate effectively with team members and clients regarding repairs and maintenance needs
