Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate English As A Second Language (ESL) Teacher to join our educational team as a supply ESL teacher. The schedule is Monday to Friday from 9 am to 12 noon, and Monday to Thursday 5pm to 8pm. The ideal candidate will have experience in tutoring and classroom settings, focusing on educating non-native English speakers. This role involves creating an engaging learning environment that fosters language acquisition and cultural understanding among students of various ages and levels.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement lesson plans that cater to the diverse needs of students learning English as a second language.
  • Conduct classes in a supportive and interactive manner, encouraging student participation and collaboration.
  • Assess student progress through regular evaluations and provide constructive feedback to enhance their learning experience.
  • Create a positive classroom atmosphere that promotes respect, inclusivity, and cultural awareness.
  • Utilize various teaching methods and resources to accommodate different learning styles and abilities.
  • Collaborate with other educators and staff to support students' overall development and integration into the school community.
  • Maintain accurate records of student attendance, performance, and progress reports.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in tutoring or teaching, preferably in an ESL setting.
  • Strong understanding of language acquisition theories and effective teaching strategies for non-native speakers.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to engage students effectively.
  • Patience, empathy, and adaptability to meet the varying needs of students from diverse backgrounds.
  • A degree in Education, Linguistics, or a related field is preferred but not mandatory; relevant certifications in ESL teaching are a plus.
  • OCELT is a plus.
  • Familiarity with technology-enhanced teaching tools is advantageous.

Pay: $25.00-$28.00 per hour
