Job Summary

Reporting directly to Infinity General Contracting's Operations Manager, the Working Foreperson combines supervisory and hands-on maintenance/repair duties, requiring strong leadership, technical skills, and the ability to supervise and coordinate projects and personnel while ensuring safety and quality.

The incumbent will conduct all activities in a manner that supports the mission, vision and values of IMC, as well as adherence to all established Policies and Procedures.

This permanent full-time salaried position is based on forty (40) hours weekly. Given the supervisory capacity, additional hours may be required.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and coordinate the activities of a team, ensuring tasks are completed efficiently and effectively.

  • Train and mentor team members to enhance their skills and improve work performance.

  • Assign tasks, delegate responsibilities, and provide guidance and training.

  • Monitor performance, address issues, and provide feedback.

  • Perform daily toolbox talks and ensure daily job FLHA's and paperwork are completed.

  • Ensure that all work activities are carried out in a safe and efficient manner, and that all crew members are in compliance with government and company Personal Protective Equipment 'PPE' standards.

  • Perform routine and specialized maintenance and repairs on equipment, facilities, and systems.

  • Possess a broad range of skills in areas such as carpentry, plumbing, electrical, and basic repairs.

  • Be able to perform tasks such as painting, drywall repair, flooring installation, and appliance repair.

  • Perform General Labourer duties as required.

  • Safely operate various pieces of equipment when required.

  • Be proficient in the use of hand and power tools.

  • Order supplies and materials, as required.

  • Maintain tools, equipment, and a clean work environment.

  • Identify and address maintenance needs, develop and implement preventative maintenance programs.

  • Inspect facilities and equipment to ensure proper functioning and safety.

  • Plan, schedule, and manage projects, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget.

  • Monitor project timelines, budgets, and materials to ensure the efficient use of resources.

  • Prepare reports and track progress of work activities.

  • Coordinate with other company departments and contractors as required.

  • Respond to customer inquiries and resolve issues.

  • Other relatable duties as required.

Qualifications

  • Grade twelve (12) Diploma or General Educational Diploma (GED) equivalency is required.

  • Minimum three (3) years of proven field supervisory experience.

  • Valid Class 5 Alberta Driver's License, along with a clean driver's abstract is required.

  • Criminal Record Check is required.

  • Proven strong leadership and supervisory skills.

  • Demonstrated technical skills in maintenance and repair.

  • Ability to plan, organize, and manage projects.

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office suite applications.

  • Excellent written and oral communication and interpersonal skills with ability to listen effectively, respond appropriately, and maintain mutual comfort level while relating to a diverse workforce.

  • Knowledge of safety regulations and procedures.

  • Must have physical stamina and ability to perform manual labor.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Experience with a variety of tools and equipment.

  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
