Overview

We are seeking a skilled Journeyperson Electrician to join our team. This role involves installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems across various commercial settings. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical expertise, a thorough understanding of electrical codes, and the ability to interpret schematics and blueprints. This position offers an opportunity to work on diverse projects, including renovation and new construction, utilizing a wide range of hand tools and power tools. A background in commercial electrician work and fire alarm systems is highly desirable. Candidates must be committed to safety standards and quality workmanship. Candidates must have reliable transportation and be able to work evening shifts as required (Evening shift work will include a 20% shift premium).

Responsibilities

  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams to accurately install or repair electrical systems.
  • Install, troubleshoot, and maintain electrical wiring, fixtures, control systems, and equipment in industrial or commercial environments.
  • Use hand tools, power tools, and specialized equipment to complete electrical tasks efficiently and safely.
  • Perform renovation work on existing electrical infrastructure while adhering to current codes and safety regulations.
  • Diagnose electrical issues using schematics and troubleshooting techniques; perform repairs or replacements as needed.
  • Collaborate with other tradespeople during construction or renovation projects to ensure seamless integration of electrical components.
  • Maintain detailed documentation of work performed and ensure all installations meet compliance standards.

Experience

  • Proven experience as an electrician with a valid journeyperson license or certification.
  • Strong background in commercial electrical systems, including experience with schematics, blueprints, and control wiring.
  • Hands-on experience with low voltage wiring, programmable logic controllers (PLCs), and automation systems.
  • Familiarity with construction environments, renovation projects, and the use of various hand tools and power tools.
  • Knowledge of electrical codes, safety standards, and best practices for industrial or commercial installations.
  • This role requires a dedicated professional capable of working independently or as part of a team while maintaining high safety standards. The successful candidate will demonstrate technical proficiency across multiple facets of electrical work in dynamic settings.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $35.00-$40.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
