About the Role:

The position is responsible for the direct oversight and compliance with all North American Electric Reliability Corporation rules and regulations. This position is based out of our Oakville office. We currently work in a hybrid model, with Tuesdays to Thursdays working in the office.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for providing subject matter experts with clear expectations in regulatory rules and their impact on business systems.
  • Oversee new site development so that sites are compliant with applicable NERC and Canadian provincial electric reliability regulations in North American and Canadian Provence's.
  • Analyze Information Technology designs and provide guidance to IT and Energy Management teams so that designs and controls are consistent with a sustainable compliance program.
  • Must be able to effectively communicate the results of the analysis to various employees within the company so that the communication is clear and understood via electronic media, phone and or in person.
  • Help support the growth and internal development of NERC team and other internal company SME's.
  • Insure that business properly controls and coordinates regulatory information related to the North American Electric Reliability Corporation standards and manage the business system for proper delivery of that information to the regulator.
  • Lead and orchestrate pre-North American Electric Reliability Corporation audit preparations to insure full compliance with regulations.
  • Lead regular reporting requirements within multiple regulators in the united states and Canadian provinces.

We want you on our team because you:

  • Have a bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in Engineering, Business, Compliance, Regulatory Affairs, or a related field.
  • Have a minimum of 5 years of experience in regulatory compliance, operations compliance, or a related function within the power/energy sector.
  • Have the ability to work in a cross-functional environment with Operations, IT, Energy Services and Senior Leadership.
  • Have a solid understanding of NERC, FERC, ISO/RTO market rules
  • Have the ability to develop and track compliance KPIs, reporting frameworks, and corrective action plans.
  • Have strong written and verbal communication skills, including experience negotiating long-term, strategic matters with internal stakeholders.
