We are seeking a vigilant and dedicated Security Guard to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment for our clients, employees, and visitors. This role requires keen observation skills, the ability to respond effectively to incidents, and a commitment to upholding safety protocols.

Duties

  • Monitor premises through regular patrols and surveillance systems to prevent and detect signs of intrusion or suspicious activity.
  • Operate and maintain CCTV equipment to ensure effective monitoring of designated areas.
  • Enforce rules and regulations to maintain order and ensure the safety of all individuals on site.
  • Respond promptly to alarms and emergency situations, coordinating with law enforcement or emergency services as needed.
  • Conduct thorough inspections of buildings, grounds, and equipment to identify potential security risks or hazards.
  • Assist in loss prevention efforts by identifying theft or fraud attempts and reporting them accordingly.
  • Prepare detailed reports on incidents, observations, and activities for management review.

Skills

  • Valid Nova Scotia Security Guard License
  • Standard First Aid & Level C CPR certification
  • Proficient in surveillance techniques and the operation of CCTV systems - this is a bonus
  • Knowledge of law enforcement procedures and protocols is highly desirable.
  • Strong observational skills with the ability to remain alert and focused during shifts.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact effectively with diverse groups of people.
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure and make sound decisions in emergency situations.
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving with a strong attention to detail.
