We are seeking a
Senior Real Estate Accountant
to manage a portfolio of income-producing assets. In this role, you'll take ownership of full-cycle accounting for a diverse portfolio of income-producing assets, ensuring accuracy, transparency, and efficiency at every step. From rental billing and operating cost recovery to forecasting and audits, you'll play a critical part in delivering financial clarity and supporting growth. Responsibilities

  • Perform full-cycle accounting for a portfolio of real estate assets.
  • Maintain the general ledger, including journal entries, accruals for revenue, operating expenses, and capital expenditures.
  • Prepare and review monthly financial reports, including revenue and expense variance analysis and balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Coordinate and prepare annual budgets and full-year estimates in collaboration with internal teams.
  • Prepare year-end CAM and tax invoices and working papers for external audits.
  • Set up and maintain Yardi final recovery module for timely tenant billing.
  • Review Yardi tenant abstracts for accuracy and approve monthly rent rolls.
  • Assist with acquisition and disposition processes, including due diligence.
  • Support training initiatives as needed.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in full-cycle real estate accounting, including final recoveries, audits, forecasting, budgeting, and lease interpretation.
  • Accounting degree or diploma required; professional designation (CPA) an asset.
  • Advanced MS Excel skills (pivot tables, formulas).
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills with a flexible, solution-oriented approach.
  • Yardi Voyager 7S experience is an asset.
  • Bilingual (English/French) is an asset.
