We seek excellent students, faculty, and staff to join us in what has become known as the "Western Experience" - an opportunity to contribute to a better world through the development of new knowledge, new abilities, new connections, and new ways to make a difference.

About Us

The DAN Department of Management & Organizational Studies provides a unique interdisciplinary approach to the study of management, emphasizing the social science and evidence-based foundations of management education. Our award winning faculty are dedicated educators and academics engaged in world-class research focusing on the areas of corporate governance and consumer and organizational behaviour.

Our undergraduate program is one of the first to provide an evidence-based approach to the study of management. We have approximately 3,000 undergraduate students studying five core management areas – Accounting, Consumer Behavior, Finance, Human Resource Management, and Management & Legal Studies – as well as Commercial Aviation Management. Our curriculum combines these academic streams of core management education with the opportunity to obtain a broader educational perspective from the social sciences and other disciplines. Our focus on Evidence-Based Management, or EBM, emphasizes the use of evidence in decision-making. EBM supports our interdisciplinary nature and prepares our students to make meaningful contributions to management decisions in the organizations they join.

Candidates who are invited for an interview or who are short-listed, and who have made a declaration of Indigenous citizenship or membership for material advantage at Western, including where required or preferred for the position, will be asked to have their declaration of Indigenous citizenship or membership affirmed through a relational accountability process, led by the Office of Indigenous Initiatives (OII), that is consistent with Indigenous ways of knowing, being, and doing. Please contact the OII directly for details on the affirmation processes: The policy can be viewed at: POLICY Affirming Declarations of Indigenous Citizenship or Membership at Western University.
