Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Assistant Store Manager to join our retail team. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in supporting store operations, driving sales, and ensuring exceptional customer service. This position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with strong leadership skills and a passion for retail management to advance their careers in a fast-paced environment. The Assistant Store Manager will be responsible for assisting the Store Manager in daily store functions, supervising staff, and maintaining a positive shopping experience for our customers.
Duties
- Support the Store Manager in overseeing daily store operations, including merchandising, inventory management, and sales strategies
- Assist with recruiting, training, and developing team members to ensure high performance and excellent customer service
- Manage payroll, cash handling, and bookkeeping tasks accurately and efficiently
- Supervise staff schedules, delegate tasks, and monitor team productivity to meet sales goals
- Oversee POS systems, pricing strategies, and purchasing activities to optimize profitability
- Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures related to safety, security, and store standards
- Lead marketing initiatives and promotional activities to increase store traffic and sales
- Handle customer inquiries, resolve complaints professionally, and maintain high levels of customer satisfaction
- Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide coaching to team members
- Assist in budgeting, sales management, and store planning efforts to support business growth
Experience
- Proven supervisory or managerial experience within retail sales or store management roles
- Strong knowledge of merchandising, POS systems, pricing strategies, and inventory control
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and organizational skills
- Bilingual or multilingual abilities are a plus for serving diverse customer bases
- Experience with recruiting, training & development, payroll processing, and administrative tasks
- Demonstrated leadership capabilities with a focus on team management and sales growth
- Proficiency in budgeting, bookkeeping, math skills for financial accuracy, and time management skills
- Ability to handle multiple responsibilities efficiently while maintaining attention to detail
- Prior experience in retail management or sales management is highly desirable
