Giant Tiger Wholesale is looking to hire a full-time Technical Facility Maintenance Associate for our fully automated 660,000 square foot distribution centre in Johnstown, ON GTW can offer paid material handling equipment training on brand-new Raymond equipment, full medical/dental benefits, a store discount and 24/7 onsite gym access.

Technical Facility Maintenance Associate Highlights:

• Working with emergency power generation systems.

• Working with building fire suppression systems.

• Take part in the maintenance of all warehouse equipment in accordance with the OHSA and manufacturers manuals. This includes, but is not limited to, dock plates, dock doors, HVAC, compactors, generators, sprinkler systems and fire alarm systems.

• Ensure weekly, monthly, and annual generator tests and fire pump test are completed as per TSSA standards.

•  Performs duties in a manner which promotes health and safety in accordance with OHSA, applicable legislation, and company policy and procedures

• Operate floor washer, ensure warehouse cleanliness meets expectations.

• Assist in ground keeping, snow removal, lawn care and overall facility appearance.

• Reports to Maintenance Supervisor on all third party contracts including, but not limited to, snow removal, yard maintenance, generator, and fire suppression to ensure contractual agreements are met.

• Troubleshooting mechanical and electrical issues while ensuring lock out tag out procedures are followed.

• Operating and servicing various pieces of equipment including, but not limited to, forklifts, man lift, scissor lift, and tractors.

• Representing Giant Tiger professionally in all ways;

Technical Facility Maintenance Associate Job Requirements:

• Completion of High School;

• Demonstrated working knowledge or Ontario College of trades or equivalent with regards to but not limited to emergency power generation systems or fire suppression systems;

• Demonstrated knowledge in all of the mechanical trades;

• Required to respond to on call emergencies such as fire alarm troubles, supervisory, alarms, power outage, and or other events that would affect operations;

• Good communication, computer, & negotiating skills;

• Good working knowledge of MS office including Outlook;

• Experience working with a Building Automation Systems is an asset;

• Successful candidates must be in good standing for both performance and health & safety.

Technical Facility Maintenance Associate Job Schedule:

Sunday to Thursday, 7:00 am to 3:30 pm.
