Company Overview

Reporting to the Director of Production, the Facility Maintenance Technician is responsible for executing day-to-day maintenance activities around the facility. The Maintenance Technician will work closely with the Manufacturing Engineering department to refine and adhere to the planned maintenance program. Maintain facility equipment, utilities and schedule necessary inspections or maintenance with vendors. A well-rounded individual that has the knowledge in multiple disciplines including woodworking, assembly, repair, computer skills and time management will excel in this position.

Key Functions & Duties:

· Responsible for repairing doors, windows, floors

· Responsible for facility equipment maintenance and inspections.

· Help refine PM program.

· Meet cost, productivity, quality, and timeliness targets.

· Ensure compliance with laws, regulations, and the quality management system.

· Determine, maintain, methods to keep equipment and tools in good order.

· Build custom crates if required.

· Ensure equipment is maintained and serviceable.

· Determine timelines of tool inspection and carry out inspections.

· Grease, Lubricate, replace wear parts, on required equipment.

· Work with department managers to ensure maintenance minimizes downtimes in production areas.

· Maintain facility integrated asset/pm list using the Microsoft platform.

· Perform miscellaneous other duties and projects assigned and required.

· Health and Safety

· Reporting hazards/unsafe working conditions

· Following all PPE/Safe Work instructions

· Understand responsibilities related to Provincial legislation

· Environmental

· Work to achieve Environmental objectives

· Understand how tasks/activities affect the environment

· Report on Environmental concerns

Qualifications

· Post-secondary diploma or degree in technical discipline is an asset.

· 5 years of maintenance experience within an ISO 9001 environment is an asset.

· Strong organization, negotiation, verbal, and written communication skills.

· Strong decision-making skills and a result-driven approach.

· Strong understanding of the maintenance programs, lean manufacturing, value engineering guidelines and inputs.

· Strong understanding of ISO 9001 quality standards and Ontario health & safety regulations

· Experience with Microsoft power platform (Excel, Word, SharePoint, Forms, Power BI) is an asset.

· Ability to read engineering blueprints and relevant technical documents.

· Ability to work independently or in a team.

Job Type: Full-time
