Job Overview

The Yard Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily operations within the yard, ensuring efficient workflow and adherence to safety standards. The ideal candidate MUST HOLD a minimum of a Class E Ontario Drivers License, insurance verifiable 3 three years of experience operating commercial PASSENGER vehicles (trucks or Uber are not considered commercial vehicles), good knowledge of working with cloud-based platforms, fluency in English, and working with people, including effective yard management.

Please note, this is a night shift, Sunday to Thursday, 09:30 PM to 05:30 AM.

Role

  • Supervise daily yard operations, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and company policies.
  • Conduct regular inspections of vehicles to ensure proper functioning and safety.
  • Train and mentor staff on best practices for heavy lifting, order picking, and equipment operation.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment in accordance with company standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee and perform charging of Electric (EV) Buses.
  • Inspect Safety Equipment, Belt Cutter/Glass Breaker, First-Aid Kit, Safety Triangles, Fire Extinguisher: check for damages, expiration dates and restock if necessary.
  • Inspect buses for physical damage, equipment malfunction, or mechanical failures.
  • Inspect and update vehicle documents; Insurance, Safety Certificate, CVOR and Ownership.

  • Assign buses to drivers and confirm the driver is matched to the proper bus in the system.
  • Assist drivers with Back-up procedures.
  • Assist drivers with any incidents or concerns, mechanicals, damages, injuries.
  • Perform minor cleaning and sweeping inside the buses. Inspect ramps for any debris.
  • Perform daily audit on drivers, observing proper procedures for pre-trip inspections.
  • Inspect fluid levels and replenish if required.
  • Clean and clear vehicles of any debris, snow, or ice.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $17.86-$22.00 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 40 per week

Ability to commute/relocate:

  • Brampton, ON L6T 4T3: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (preferred)
