Southbridge Care Homes owns and operates several long-term care and retirement homes throughout many urban and rural areas across Ontario.   
The Environmental Services Consultant provides leadership and expertise to ensure Southbridge homes maintain safe, clean, and well-functioning environments that support resident comfort and regulatory compliance. This role exists to oversee housekeeping, laundry, and facility operations, ensuring quality control, safety standards, and preventative maintenance programs are consistently met across all homes. By mentoring home-level teams, supporting policy development, and managing vendor and project oversight, the Environmental Services Consultant helps drive operational excellence and a safe living and working environment. The role primarily supports internal stakeholders, including home leadership and environmental services teams.
  This is a full-time office-based role with standard business hours, though extended hours may be required during critical deadlines. The environment is fast-paced and deadline-driven, requiring high attention to detail and strong time management skills. The role includes regular use of computer systems and collaboration with cross-functional teams. The role requires frequent travel to various LTC homes as needed. 
 
Key Responsibilities:

Oversight of the laundry, housekeeping, and facilities program for our homes, including assistance in hiring and performance management of team members.
Supervising third-party contractors to ensure work meets our requirements and standards. 
Input into departmental budgets and inventory as required, including purchasing of supplies and equipment.
Assistance with the development and revision of policies and procedures within the department, and leading new initiatives and projects.
Oversight and assistance of quality control of services and products provided/ produced by departmental staff.
Oversight of the Homes safety program including preventative maintenance schedules 
Maintaining records, statistics, and reports in accordance with internal and external policies and guidelines.
Other duties as required or assigned 

Knowledge and Skills Required:

Environmental Services Certificate in a recognized program.
Project management expertise.
Familiarity with the FLTCA, 2021 and the RHRA regulations.  
Knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act
Demonstrated experience with building maintenance and upkeep.
Excellent interpersonal, project and time management and communication skills
A reliable vehicle is required as travel throughout Ontario is required.
A negative vulnerable sector check completed within 6 months of hire date.
Completion of a 2 Step TB Skin test within the last 12 months.
