We're looking for a Monitoring and Compliance Coordinator to join our Opportunity Calgary Investment Fund (OCIF) team to help us tell Calgary's story as a great place to make a living and make a life.

Job Summary

The Coordinator, Monitoring and Compliance plays a critical role in supporting the Opportunity Calgary Investment Fund's (OCIF) investments by ensuring that funded projects adhere to established governance and regulatory frameworks, with a strong emphasis on accuracy, transparency, and compliance. The Coordinator is responsible for tracking project milestones, ensuring timely and complete reporting to key stakeholders, and managing legal and Access to Information Act ('ATIA') documentation. The role also involves collaboration with fund managers and legal teams to maintain robust documentation and support contract management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct completeness checks and ensure project metrics are achieved and documented.
  • Prepare and review monitoring and compliance evaluation reports.
  • Recommend contribution payments for successful milestone achievement.
  • Track amendments and ensure alignment with legal and governance frameworks.
  • Collaborate with team members to maintain robust internal controls and checklists.
  • Support preparation of internal and external OCIF deliverables and reporting.
  • Maintain and update boards and other productivity tools.
  • Compile and analyze data for internal and external reporting.
  • Ensure proper documentation of decisions, correspondence, and actions related to any ATIA requests to support transparency, accountability, and audit readiness.
  • Assist with contract reviews and amendments.
  • Ensure documentation aligns with OCIF governance and regulatory frameworks.

You're detail-oriented, organized, and committed to ensuring accuracy and accountability in everything you do. You have a strong understanding of compliance, governance, and reporting, and you're comfortable working with legal documents, tracking milestones, and preparing clear, data-driven reports.

You're skilled with tools like Excel, PowerPoint, CRM systems, and project management platforms, and you bring a proactive approach to problem-solving

Education

Undergraduate degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.

Experience

Minimum of 2 years experience in a similar role.

Key Skills and Competencies

  • Proven client service orientation with the ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with internal client and key stakeholders.
  • Quality assurance (Analytical and methodical)
  • Ability to monitor and manage legal agreements.
  • Experience with government funding or venture capital programs is an asset
  • Developed research, communication and project management skills.
  • Demonstrated strength in report writing/ presentations/communication skills.
  • Organizational skills
  • Budgeting and Risk management
  • Computer skills:
    • Proficiency with PowerPoint, Excel and Word
    • Experience with CRM and Project Management software
    • MS office 365
    • Experienced in AI-driven data analysis
  • Familiarity with market data platforms such as Pitchbook, Crunchbase, and CB Insights.
  • Excellent work ethic and energy level
  • Critical Thinking and Problem Solving
