Job DescriptionSGS is looking to hire a Certified CGSB Level 2 Inspector (VT, UT, MT) as an independent contractor for a QA/QC assignment that will start in January 2026 and last one year.
Scope of work includes:
- Review of workmanship on steel fabrication for conformance with project specifications and Review of fitting Dimensional Checks
- Visual Examination - 100% of all welds.
- Ultrasonic Test Method - 100% of all complete penetration welds.
- Magnetic Particle Test Method – 100% of all filet welds.
- Inspection of Bolts of Slip-Critical and not slip critical or pre-tensioned connections
- Must be a Certified CGSB Level 2 Inspector (VT, UT and MT).
- Minimum of 5 years of shop inspection experience (vendor surveillance).
- Ideal candidate would have steel structure inspection experience.
- Detail oriented and well organized
- Strong analytical and communication skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment as part of a team, as well as independently
- Proven time management skills and a strong attention to detail.
- Work schedule: 8 hours a day, starting in January 2026 for at least a year.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- The contractor will need to provide their own equipement.
- The contractor needs to be an independent contractor (IC)
